French setting (also known as fishtail setting) is a style popularized in the early 20th century. Hand-cut facets under each stone gives a geometric look and allows for more play-of-light, resulting in a particularly sparkly and striking eternity band.
This band is meticulously cut from a solid square band in 14k gold and set with approximately 1ct of salt + pepper or F-G/SI white diamonds (actual diamond weight will vary based on ring size).
